| Le 29/11/2019 Les détails ci-dessous de la réédition rematerisée de l'album "That Makes One" de Easy Action, avec des titres bonus "Eye for an Eye" et "There is a River"..  THAT MAKES ONE - remastered Coming your way! Check your preferred place of purchase. This re-release is remastered by Chris Lyne, contains liner notes from Dave Reynolds (Classic Rock magazine) and limited to 1000 copies. As a bonus there are rare b-sides "Eye For An Eye" from the "In The Middle Of Nowhere" single and "There Is A River" from the "Talk Of The Town" single. Rarely has there been such a drastic change of musical style than that made by the Swedish hard rock band Easy Action when it came to the recording of their second album 'That Makes One' in 1985. While the band's debut LP (1983) was an ahead of its time glam classic, Easy Action had morphed into a slickly melodic AOR group on the follow up record. Kee Marcello, who later on joined Europe, was approached by Peo Thyrén (b) from the pop punk band Noice which were considerably successful at the time to sing but eventually ended up as their producer. Not willing to live the destructive lifestyle of the band, Kee and Peo founded their own band: Easy Action. The name refers to Marc Bolan who is considered the biggest rock star by Marcello. The band recorded a mini-album and got themselves a multi-million dollar deal with Sire Records. "I went from practically being homeless to being a young, stupid guy with loads of money", Marcello recalls. Joining Peo and Kee in this early version of Easy Action were Zinny J. Zan (v), Fredrik Von Gerber (d, ex Noice) and Danny Wilde (g). The band sounded like a blueprint for Mötley Crüe, Poison and the like and consequently wanted to go in a different direction with the follow-up. Several line-up changes came, most notably Peo eventually making way for Björn 'Nalle' Påhlsson and Tommy Nilsson being recruited to fill the vacant lead singer role after Zinny left. The journey together ended when Marcello was offered to join Europe - an offer to good to turn down. Upon release in 1986 'That Makes One' certainly gained its many admirers, but any success was short-lived due to Kee taking up that aforementioned offer from Europe to replace John Norum in November the same year to go on to record the 'Out Of This World' and 'Prisoners In Paradise' albums with the group. When that version of Europe went their separate ways, Marcello began a solo career in 1993 that continues to this day, alongside a lot of production for other artists. The "glam rock variant" of Easy Action reunited. Kee and Zinny J. Zan having recruited a first class team of players that included Simon Roxx (g), Micael Grimm (b) and Björn 'Grizzly' Höglund (d) and played Sweden Rock in 2006. But the passing of Grimm in 2011 who was the driving force at the time ended the band activities, although some songs were written. Yet in 2019 the "melodic rock version" of the band got back together! Kee and Tommy, alongside Chris Lind (g), Björn 'Nalle' Påhlsson, Björn 'Grizzly' Höglund and the band's long-time live keyboard player Jörgen Ingeström reformed again earlier this year when Kee received another offer to play Sweden Rock. The band recorded a live DVD and presented themselves in excellent shape, for instance using no backing tapes and stuff. |

Friends After the rain and hailstorm in Curitiba, Guitars checked in to a hotel room to dry off and for some R&R. Basses and Keyboards had a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door, so we can’t get access to pictures at this stage. The Curitiba show was otherwise amazing! Crowd AWESOME! It’s a real pleasure to be back in South America and to Meet our fans here. We are still in Brazil for one more show then off to Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. | Le 02/09/2019 Voici une petite photo du concert, en attendant que je vous mette les autres.  Le concert était vraiment bien, même s'il était un peu court ! (01h27 au total) Bon souvenir pour mon fils de 11 ans à qui Joey, après s'être arrêté en le regardant avec un grand sourire, a sorti un de ses médiators qu'il lui a remis en main propre, alors qu'il était descendu dans la fosse. Quant à moi, j'ai eu le droit à une poignée de main de plusieurs secondes ! Cool, vraiment sympa et proche de son public le sieur Joey. La setlist dans l'ordre : Walk the Earth The Siege Rock the Night Scream of Anger Last Look at Eden Sign of the Times Heart of Stone War of Kings Nothin’ to Ya Carrie Wasted Time Solo batterie Ian Ready or Not Supertitious (avec No Woman No Cry, avant la descente de Joey dans la fosse) Rappel : Cherokee The Final Countdown Le groupe était en forme et Joey bougeait dans tous les sens, le son était très bon et pas trop fort. Beaucoup d'humour lorsque Joey prenait la parole, en s’essayant au français. John Norum semblait un peu fatigué et avoir mal aux doigts, Enfin 2 ou 3 titres en plus auraient été les bienvenus. Mais bon, ne faisons pas la fine bouche, c'était le top et en plus c'était gratuit. De ce que j'ai entendu des personnes du festival, c'est qu'il y avait environ 40 000 spectateurs. En plus le festival se terminait par un feu d'artifice. J'essaierais de vous mettre d'autres photos dans la semaine. EUROPE clôt le festival en beauté Le public redoutait d’assister à une prestation aussi médiocre que celle des Jacksons deux jours plus tôt. Il n’en fut rien. Europe a fait tomber le rideau sur la 24e édition du festival. Et le compte à rebours est lancé. À 21 heures tapantes, samedi 31 août 2019, le groupe EUROPE déboule sur la scène du parc du Vissoir, à Trélazé. Les projecteurs font pleins feux sur Joey Tempest, le chanteur charismatique du groupe. Dès les premières notes, les frayeurs s’estompent assez vite. Des basses profondes et lourdes s’envolent, la batterie « envoie du steak » et la guitare électrique fait grincer des dents. Les ingrédients sont réunis pour une soirée de rock-métal aux petits oignons. Dans la fosse, sous le nez des musiciens, les fanas de la première heure sont présents. Plus loin, les familles scotchent le grand écran disposé au fond du parc du Vissoir, à plusieurs dizaines de mètres de la scène, tandis que des enfants jouent à se courir après. Des familles venues assister au concert mais aussi et surtout au feu d’artifice, qui doit clore cette édition. Un morceau de la symphonie de Beethoven Le groupe EUROPE égrène joyeusement son répertoire. La plupart des morceaux, le public ne les connaît pas, ou très peu. Le compte à rebours est lancé. À quel moment le groupe va interpréter son plus grand tube ? Au bout d’une heure de concert, EUROPE quitte la scène. Tous, sauf Ian Haugland, le batteur. Il va littéralement laisser le public bouche bée en jouant, en solo, un morceau de la symphonie de Beethoven. Un pur chef-d’œuvre pour les oreilles ! Le groupe s’est même payé le luxe d’interpréter, avec brio, « No woman no cry » de Bob Marley. Et c’est à ce moment du concert où Joey Tempest est allé à la rencontre du public. Les agents de sécurité ont dû lui demander de revenir sur scène, sinon il y serait encore ! Et c’est après un rappel, qu’EUROPE a chanté « The Final Countdown ». Il était 22 h 22. | Le 11/04/2019 Nouvelle vidéo pour le titre "Turn To Dust"  Friends! We are very proud to give you our latest video for the track “Turn To Dust” from the Walk The Earth album! Here we have Joey with more details… “This song idea has been brewing for over ten years. When recording our latest album, WALK THE EARTH, in Abbey Road Studios, the inspiration finally kicked in to finish it. Originally an idea and labour of love of Mic Michaeli’s, the video was meant to touch on emotions and observations related to the Life and Death of your near and dear ones, the circle of life if you will, but it turned out to be much more than that as it follows the dramatic journey of the character taken from the artwork on our album cover. Working with Craig Hooper and his animation team was a real pleasure, and after seeing their work on Deep Purple’s ‘The Surprising’, we knew we were dealing with true visionaries. We’re very proud of the result, especially since it’s our first ever animated video.” As director Craig Hooper continues, “A video like this is a very difficult thing to get right. The song is layered with emotion and meaning and to capture that in images is tricky to say the least. The band decided the only way to do the song justice was through animation, where images are limited only by your imagination and together we roughed out a treatment. I then took that to Pete Rogers and Helen Pooler at Bait Studio in Cardiff, Wales, who are amongst the best in the world at this kind of thing and we’d already worked with them before for a video for Deep Purple. They brought on board artist Matt Rooke, who immediately ‘got it,' and between them they gave life to these ideas and images. It wasn’t until the final frame was finished that we saw we had produced something special, something that I hope does a good enough job of representing such an amazing and heartfelt song. Le 28/03/2019 En août 2018, EUROPE a reçu un prix d'honneur de la municipalité de Upplands Väsby, d'où le groupe est originaire. A cette occasion, le groupe a dédicacé une Stratocaster précédemment utilisée par des étudiants dans la salle EUROPE de l'école de musique de la ville. Cette guitare est baptisée EUROPE et est exposé dans une vitrine au Messigen de Love Almqvist Torg 1.  "In August last year, the rock band Europe from #UpplandsVäsby received an honorary award from Upplands-Väsby Municipality. The band thanked for the prize, among other things by signing a #guitar, which is now in a booth at the Messingen in Love Almqvists Torg 1. 🎸 The guitar, a #Stratocaster, has previously been played by students in the "#EuropeRoom" at the Upplands Väsby Musikskola, and it has been named "Europe". Back on the road again, with the only “other one” expect my wonderful wife that I would let between my legs... my incredible 101 Black Diamond snare drum and just like my wife, it never lets me down! Played in Gran Canaria and Tenerif first time ever this weekend. Thanx for the support, you people really know how to rock! |

This is the original JMP used on that legendary album! Anders Möller (left) is the lead vocalist/guitar player of Gothenburg rockers Black Ingvars, and his son Simon was the owner of the amp, but gracefully agreed on letting me buy it back, for which I’m truly grateful! Both father & son thought it was time the OOTW JMP finally came back home to daddy! |
